Charisma
Films was borne out of Charisma Records which enjoyed huge success
with Genesis, Marillion and numerous other world class bands in
the 1970’s/80’s under the guidance of founder Tony Stratton
Smith, “Strat”.

Almost instant
success came with movies such as "Fletch" - a substantial
success for Universal, "The Odd Job", a couple of Monty
Python movies and the ultra-cult "Sir Henry at Rawlinson End",
by Viv Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and starring Trevor
Howard.

Atherton was involved in some of Charisma’s projects and,
following Strat’s death, acquired the company with its catalogue
of finished films and rights in a number of books and screenplays
to which he added his own projects and his library of Classic 1940’s
US movies. |
