Films was borne out of Charisma Records which enjoyed huge success
with Genesis, Marillion and numerous other world class bands in
the 1970’s/80’s under the guidance of founder Tony Stratton
Smith, “Strat”.

Almost instant success came with movies such as "Fletch" - a substantial success for Universal, "The Odd Job", a couple of Monty Python movies and the ultra-cult "Sir Henry at Rawlinson End", by Viv Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and starring Trevor Howard. . |
James Atherton was involved in some of Charisma’s projects and, following Strat’s death, acquired the company with its catalogue of finished films and rights in a number of books and screenplays to which he added his own projects and his library of Classic 1940’s US movies. |
